Day 3 - Find a mentor

Well this is an interesting one.

We have to understand that there is something missing in our lives, be it professionally or personally.  Then we decide, who would be able to assist us or help us grow in this area.

On day 3, the challange is to come up with a mentor.  But where to begin.

I made a list of area's I would like to improve - I guess a big challange is who do I ask to help me?  My boss? By colleagues? My friends?

Who?

As a man, or woman for that matter -- we want to be successful in all aspects of our life.

I guess I am a coward, and someone who is not sure how to ask for help...  But I can sure see the benefit of having someone teach you their experiances to help you find success.

Now where do I begin?

For the time being -- My mentor will be google.  But hopefully something more will come of this (day 3 is not dead.. just taking longer to figure out...)

Tomorrow = Day 4, Increase Your Testosterone (did you know that stress and lack of sleep reduces your testosterone?)

  1. Watch Rambo, Fight Club, 300, etc all day long tomorrow (today) and tell me that doesn't get the testosterone flowing! Not too much though or you may punch some random person on the street.

  2. Hi,

Stumbled upon your blog via EA. Interesting stuff here, but nothing too mushy (I keep my stuff behind closed doors when it comes to blogging... I get a little too involved...)

I've had mentors through my years, well, I'm not that old... but it was always important. Gave me "parents" or someone who cared that was more mature and understanding than my peers were. Made me care more of myself too and to become a better person.

Google is a pretty good start, but you never know who you may run across out there on Twitter or the real world! lol... it's like I've said that Twitter wasn't the real world. Hm, that's something to think about.

I'm a chick, so I can't help you on the testosterone much, but I've been told I have more balls than a lot of guys out there. lol... Being opinionated helps, but making sure you stand by what you think because you thought it out is important as well. I get called assertive for this reason. I stand by what I stand for. That in itself shows character. So many people do not do that these days. Some people don't like it either. Too bad for them. Their loss.

I'm not much on the whole gym thing, or any of that, but I like to think of working out your character and who you are is very important to self image. :)

Just my two cents... probably worth that much, too.

  3. LOL - Its all about the drama in our closets :P

Thanks for the comment - Indeed your character determines who you are, or atleast how your perceived.

So, here is to being the best we can :P

Hmmmm I tend to write too much.. haha

  4. Damn straight it is! Always is.... ;)

I find it an important step for self improvement. Got to know who you are really to improve. If you don't know where you're currently at, how are you to improve yourself and your self image? As for perception, some people still don't see the real you. It's sad, but it's true. And it will always happen as much as you try to be a little transparent to them. Can be frustrating as well.

I'll drink to that. If I weren't on these damn flu mends. lol! :) :p
